What have you learned from audience feedback?
From all the feedback I gathered over the research, planning and production of my trailer, magazine and poster I learned that all the comments that were made would all help to benefit me towards getting a better grade and product. I found that it is very important to keep in touch with your primary audience through out the making of all three products as all they were aimed at people of a similar age and needed to appeal to them. This meant by getting continuous feedback allowed me to make sure my products appealed to them meaning in terms of marketing my products would sell well.
Questionnaires
I created a questionnaire to ask my audience directly what type of film they are most interested in. From these results I gathered that romance is a very popular genre, with a twist in the storyline and a happy ending. I tried to take these preferences on board when producing my trailer, and I feel I incorporated these elements in my storyline.
Poll Junkie
I created poll on the website 'Poll Junkie' this way I could ask people of all different age groups to visit my poll and answer my questions which were along the lines of, 'what is your favourite romance film' this way I could adapt my storyline to fit my audiences' preferences. Also 'would you prefer the male character to be in touch with his feelings or laddish?' this question surprised me, as my audience preferred the male character to be 'laddish', and when I asked in person why this was, because they would like the idea of changing the male in to a gentleman.
Audience Feedback
From my interview videos I gathered valid information that made me change certain elements of my trailer. After working on my trailer for so long I found myself not recognising certain things that were wrong with my product. However when I got other peoples feedback, these problems became recognisable. For example I was working on my trailer where at the end of it I showed my male character getting run over, this way I would be telling the end of my film in the trailer. But from working on the editing so critically I became unaware of this problem. So from getting feedback from different people this allowed the unrecognisable problems to be seen and changed.
